Sara Hughes has worked at STAR for over seventeen years, managing the branch for twelve years. Hughes points out how rewarding it is to help her friends and family, as well as their children, at STAR.

Sara was born and raised in Churubusco as were many members of her staff. “The most important aspect of managing STAR is making sure staff members are 100% comfortable with anything and everything. If I had to leave at any certain time, I want to make sure my staff can handle whatever needs to be done and could run as my position at any given time.” The staff at Churubusco’s location are also included in other community activities such as coaching and Junior Achievement while Sara serves as the secretary of the Churubusco Chamber of Commerce.
