Every year the local community and people from all across the United States to visit Churubusco to celebrate Turtle Days. The event is held annually at the community park in mid-June and events range from turtle races, a 5k run/walk, live entertainment, food, rides and a parade.

The festival always begins on a Wednesday and ends on Saturday at which time, the festivities are topped off with a parade in the early evening. Fire and police from all around the area are always a big hit with the children. Local businesses take part in decorating floats and children who play on the baseball leagues jump into pickup trucks to wave at friends and family along the Main St. parade route.

During the week people can make their way to the park and enjoy fantastic food from local vendors and organizations. People also purchase tickets for nightly drawings consisting of money and prizes donated by local businesses. Some take part in events such as turtle races, talent competitions and/or just sit back and enjoy local music performed live each night.
